Viking Atlantic Cossing—Mar. 2025: <<Part 1 <<Part 2  <<Part 3 Part 4 Part 5>>

Casablanca, Morocco

We had visited Casablanca in 2023.

This is a city of contrasts. We were on the included tour.

A grotto

We were headed toward a market area through multiple arched passsages.

A delivery truck with character

Wildflowers had taken over an area between an apartment building and the walkway to the beach.

It was foggy.

A closer look at the iceplant flowers and beautiful snails gathered there

Our guide led us into this crowded market.

When the guide tried to sell us argon oil and a bunch of other stuff, we headed back to the bus.

In front of the market was this pedestrian underpass.

This dome allowed light into the underpass.

The ramp up to the street level was a garden.

This sprawling plant with the blue flower heads was pride of Madeira (Echium candicans), which is native to Madeira,
as you might expect. We'd seen it in Madeira and Monaco back in 2016.

There were lots of pollinators, but these yellow beetles stood out.

Malaga, Spain

We'd been to this port on the 2015 World Cruise, on the Grand Med in 2016, & on the 2024 Atlantic crossing, so see what we did on those visits. This time, we escorted separate tours.

A stone shrine

The tour ended in this charming restaurant.

Ginny's tour started with a 30-minute bus ride.

There were 100s of acres of olive tree plantations along the way. Spain is #1 in olive and olive oil production.

Love the flowerboxes on the lamp posts.

While there are many trees native to the Americas that are planted in Europe, such as the magnolia in front of this building.
But what I thought might be a buckeye, was the European native, the horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum).

We'd seen these images on the buildings when we'd been here before.
